Learn Together, Ride Together (With Zero Hassle)

Our group package offers a highly social, cost-effective way to step into winter sports without the hassle of organizing the logistics yourself.
We provide everything you need from the moment you land. No need to buy expensive winter gear or worry about finding a warm hotel. In our structured, small-batch settings, you’ll learn the absolute basics of mountain safety and downhill gliding alongside riders of the same skill level. Off the slopes, you'll share warm meals and a cozy, heated hotel with your new mountain community.
The Group Beginner Advantage
Intimate Batch Sizes (Max 4:1 Ratio)
We cap our beginner pods at just four students per certified instructor. You receive personalized, hands-on corrections while also accelerating your own progression by watching the biomechanics and breakthroughs of your peers.
Essential Alpine Rest Cycles
Learning a brand-new sport at 2,650 m (8,690 ft) demands physical endurance. A group dynamic provides natural, structured micro-breaks. While the instructor gives 1-on-1 feedback to a peer, you get a crucial moment to catch your breath, hydrate, and reset your legs for the next drill.
A Supportive Social Dynamic
Stepping onto the snow for the first time can feel intimidating. Joining a small cohort creates a built-in support system of like-minded beginners. You share the early challenges, cheer for each other’s first linked turns, and enjoy a vibrant, team-oriented atmosphere on and off the slopes.
Zero-Friction Winter Logistics
Navigating Gulmarg’s winter infrastructure, haggling for quality gear rentals, securing properly heated hotel rooms, and arranging snow-capable transit can be overwhelming for first-timers. We eliminate the friction entirely. From pre-fitted waterproof apparel to dedicated 4x4 airport transfers, we handle the ecosystem so you can focus purely on learning.
The Beginner Progression Itinerary
A structured 7-day path from airport arrival to confident beginner turns — paced for first-timers at Gulmarg’s 2,650 m nursery slopes.
- 1
Day 1
Arrival, Gear Fitting & Group Welcome
Your dedicated 4x4 transit meets you at Srinagar International Airport (SXR) for the scenic drive up to Gulmarg. After checking into your heated room, you’ll meet your group and head to the equipment center. We handle all the logistics, fitting you with waterproof winter apparel, boots, and skis/snowboards so you’re completely ready for the morning.
- 2
Day 2
Basics, Balance & The Nursery Slopes
Your first day on the snow is all about comfort and safety. Working strictly on the flat, gentle nursery slopes, your KASI-certified instructors will teach you the fundamentals: how to carry your gear safely, strap in, balance, and make your first flat-surface glides without the stress of gravity.
- 3
Day 3
Control & Stopping Mechanics
We introduce a slight gradient. Today is entirely focused on control. Skiers will learn the foundational snowplow (wedge) to manage speed, while snowboarders will master heel-edge and toe-edge scraping. By the end of the day, you will know exactly how to stop safely on command.
- 4
Day 4
Linking Turns & Gaining Fluidity
With stopping mechanics locked in, we focus on movement. Instructors will guide you through weight transfer and edge pressure, helping you link your first left and right turns. This is the day the mechanics “click,” and you feel the sensation of riding the snow.
- 5
Day 5
Riding the Poma Lift & Longer Descents
Today, you learn how to safely load and unload from the surface lifts (Poma/button lifts). This allows the group to access the top of the beginner slopes, maximizing your descent time and rapidly accelerating your muscle memory.
- 6
Day 6
Group Free-Ride & Phase 1 Sightseeing
Your final day of instruction focuses on independent practice. You’ll ride the beginner slopes smoothly alongside your group, with instructors providing subtle form corrections. In the afternoon, you can take a scenic ride up the Phase 1 Gondola (lift ticket purchased separately) to experience the sweeping high-altitude views before a final celebratory dinner with your batch.
- 7
Day 7
Departure
Enjoy a warm breakfast and return your rental equipment. Your private 4x4 transfer will collect you from your hotel and drive you back to Srinagar Airport for your onward flight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers for gear, pacing, weather refunds, altitude, age requirements, and batch skill levels.
No. While we recommend bringing your own thermal base layers, our package includes fully waterproof outer shells (ski jackets and pants), as well as all necessary hard gear (skis, boots, poles, and helmets).
Because we strictly cap our learning pods at a 1:4 ratio, our KASI-certified instructors have the bandwidth to provide highly individualized feedback. The progression is adaptable; no one is left behind, and faster learners are continually challenged.
We operate a transparent weather policy. If authorities close the lower beginner slopes due to severe blizzards, we first attempt to reschedule your missed hours. If rescheduling is impossible before departure, we issue a pro-rated credit or partial refund for unfulfilled instruction and lift pass costs.
Gulmarg’s beginner nursery slopes sit at a comfortable 2,650m. While you may feel shortness of breath faster than at sea level, mild altitude effects are highly manageable. We pace our beginner courses specifically to account for these factors, ensuring you acclimatize safely without exhaustion.
Participants must be at least 14 years old for our group beginner batches. For younger children, we recommend our Family Packages, which provide dedicated child-friendly instruction and flexible pacing.
No. Our group packages are strictly reserved for complete beginners and first-timers. You’ll be learning alongside people who are at the same starting point as you.
