The Expedition Itinerary

Because this is a compressed timeframe, we bypass standard acclimatization pacing. Riders must arrive physically primed for immediate high-altitude exertion.
- 1
Day 1
Rapid Arrival & Afternoon Alpine Assessment
Your private 4x4 transit meets you at Srinagar (SXR) for a rapid climb to Gulmarg. After a hyper-efficient hotel check-in and VIP gear fitting, you undergo a mandatory avalanche safety briefing. We immediately hit the lower mountain to assess group pacing and snowpack stability before tomorrow's alpine push.
- 2
Days 2 & 3
High Alpine Ridges & The Shark Fin
Two massive days in the deep backcountry. Using the Phase 2 Gondola (3,980 m) as our launchpad, we deploy skins and boot-packs to access untouched ridgelines and Gulmarg’s infamous technical descents, including the Shark Fin. Expect highly technical terrain and massive vertical drops returning to the mid-station.
- 4
Day 4
Deep Valley Descents or Storm Chasing
Your final full day is dedicated to a long-format backcountry route. On clear days, this means a sustained, multi-kilometer descent deep into the Drung Valley with our 4x4 vehicles waiting for extraction. If a heavy storm cycle hits, we pivot to rapid-fire shuttle laps in the old-growth Babareshi pine forests.
- 5
Day 5
Final Morning Laps & Departure
We hit the mountain early for a final morning session of untracked lines. After a quick lunch and gear return, you load into your private 4x4 for the descent to Srinagar Airport, maximizing your mountain time right up until your flight window.

No-Compromise Safety Briefing: Even on a compressed 5-day timeline, we do not compromise on backcountry protocol. Day 1 strictly begins with a comprehensive companion rescue and beacon briefing before you ever load the Gondola.
Dynamic Alpine Routing: Because this is a shorter trip, maximizing good snow is critical. Your guide manages all terrain choices daily based on live snowpack assessments. If a massive storm shuts down the upper alpine Gondola, we immediately pivot to our dedicated 4x4 vehicles for world-class tree skiing in the Babareshi and Drung Valleys.
Valley Extraction: For long, out-of-bounds valley descents, we coordinate precise valley-bottom 4x4 pickups. This ensures you conserve your physical energy for the descent, rather than burning it on a grueling hike out to a road.
Secure Your Spot
Due to the intense, fast-paced nature of this itinerary, we allocate only our most seasoned senior guides to these pods. During the peak January/February storm cycle, we strictly limit availability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers for touring gear, guide ratios, insurance, and fitness requirements.
Because the 5-day itinerary is a highly concentrated push with no dedicated acclimatization days, we strongly recommend bringing your own primary backcountry setup (splitboard or touring skis with climbing skins, and boots). Riding familiar gear allows you to hit the ground running on Day 1. However, high-end, powder-specific equipment is available for rent at the resort for an additional fee if needed. (Note: Your mandatory Avalanche Safety Kit, beacon, probe, shovel, and ABS airbag, is already fully included).
Safety, fluid pacing, and aggressive line choice are our top priorities. We keep these fast-paced expeditions strictly capped at a maximum 1:4 guide-to-client ratio. This ensures rapid movement through avalanche terrain and allows your senior guide to match the group's exact speed and technical ability.
Yes. Standard travel insurance policies explicitly exclude out-of-bounds or backcountry winter sports. You’re required to hold a policy that covers off-piste/backcountry skiing and snowboarding, and emergency mountain evacuation from an altitude of at least 4,390 m.
While the Gondola provides a massive vertical drop (dropping you to 3,980 m), this is a true backcountry expedition. To access untouched snow and remote technical terrain like the Shark Fin, expect to utilize climbing skins or boot packs for 15 to 45+ minutes at high altitude. You must arrive with the cardiovascular fitness required for sustained alpine exertion. If you prefer pure, lift-accessed freeriding without the hiking, we recommend our 5-Day Powder Week package instead.
