The sport of snowmobiling/snow biking is growing fast and is starting to attract serious attention from tourists in Gulmarg. In Gulmarg, snowmobiles have gained wide acceptance and popularity among tourists for recreational activities. It is designed to be operated on snow and ice and does not require a road or trail but is mostly driven on open terrain or trails. 

Gulmarg offers you over 80 km of groomed trails however, commercially the trails are limited to certain areas. Snowmobiles offer an adventurous escape into the heart of Gulmarg, with miles of perfectly groomed trails and endless powder-filled bowls to explore and experience. 

Snowmobile rentals are offered to tourists that start from Gondola station in Phase I via Kongdori, sunshine peak base, Mary’s Shoulder, Khilanmarg, and Gulmarg western wild forests. 

Some of the trails are:

Long Circuit

The ride starts from Kongdori to Khilanmarg. It covers a distance of 3km and takes 25 minutes to complete. 

The timings are anytime between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. One will be accompanied by a snowmobile operator at all times. Self-drive provision is also allowed under the supervision of an operator. 

Short Circuit 

The half ride begins at Kongdori and covers a distance of 1.5 km. It takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Evening tour

The ride is offered post 6:00 pm in the evening covering Gulmarg to Kongdori and a distance of 13 km. 

The ride takes about 2-3 hours and is usually accompanied by a bonfire at Kongdori (includes meals, music, and seating arrangements). The ride will take you through the forests of Gulmarg and end with a spectacular view of the sunset while heading back from Kongdoori to Gulmarg.
