Gulmarg to Khilanmarg

Khilanmarg Valley has situated about 3 km from Gulmarg. The trek commences from Gulmarg and takes about 2 hours to reach the valley.Â
The best time to visit Khilanmarg is between May and September for camping activities.
The trek offers spectacular views of the Nun Kun peaks in the southwest and Nanga Parbat in the north.
Khilanmarg is a miniature valley in Gulmarg popular among campers for its immeasurable natural beauty and for providing the most spectacular view of the highest Himalayan peaks.Â
It is set at an altitude of 2000 ft above sea level and about 6 km from Gulmarg. It offers a scintillating view of the Nanga Parbat (8137m), the fifth-highest mountain peak in the world, and the twin peaks of Nun and Kun, both at a height of 7100m.
Khilanmarg offers an off-beaten track and the whole stretch from Gulmarg is either covered on foot. Commuting via vehicle is hardly possible.
During summers, the Khilanmarg valley is covered in colorful flowers that carpet the entire area in vibrant hues. During winters, the same Khilanmarg is covered in thick layers of snow and the gentle slope of the valley is quite popular among skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.Â
Khilanmarg also offers great views of Jhelum, Dal, Wular, and the Shankaracharya temple.

 Gulmarg to Drung

The Gulmarg – Drung trek is the most popular and sought-after trek in Gulmarg.Â
Drung is situated at a distance of 3 km from Gulmarg and only takes about 1.5 hours to complete the trek.
Drung Valley is located in the Tangmarg area of the Baramulla district. It is about 3.5 km from Tangmarg and about 15 km from Gulmarg.Â
The Drung waterfall is the most sought-after tourist attraction. The waterfall freezes during winter and has an enchanting appeal. The other tourist spots include the caves, an ancient temple, Ferozpora Nalla, and a hydropower plant.
The Drung route passes through a dense pine forest and old mud shacks. It is open all year round.Â
Activities in Drung Valley include pony and now recently ATV rides.
Drung Valley is the perfect place to travel with your family and enjoy a night or two camping with your loved ones.

The Gulmarg – Hakapathri (between Gulmarg and Kongdoori) is a heavenly camping trail.Â
It takes half and hour to reach Hakapathri.
The walk between the meadows and the forests offer spectacular views of the trail.Â

Gulmarg to Boothapathri

Situated about 9,000 ft above sea level, the mist-shrouded meadows of Botapathri were favorites among trekkers before 1990.
Botha Pathri is a lush meadow that is located at a distance of 10 km from Gulmarg and about 5 km for the LOC under the Affarwat range in Western Kashmir. It is nestled in the beautiful Nagin Valley of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.Â
Botha Pathri is the only place in Kashmir for camping that is accessible by road. The pristine location and its fast-flowing streams offer a perfect getaway.Â
It is part of the Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve and the area is popular for its blue pines, deodars, lush alpine meadow, and animals such as musk deer, leopards, red fox, hangul (Kashmiri stag), and others.Â
The climate is quite wet which results in lovely blooms all year round. Horse riding is a popular activity in Botha Pathri. One can also visit the Shrine cradled in the heart of the meadows of Botha Pathri.
