Irfan has been skiing since a very young age. He skied for the National Ski team for 8 yrs. He has been guiding for the last 10 years as a Himalayan Backcountry guide as well as a Heli-guide. He loves to Ski Tour and go Backcountry skiing. He has been in the Winter Industry for over 15 years. He is a Certified Ski Instructor in Kashmir from the Kashmir Association of Ski Instructors KASI Level 1, Indian ski & snowboard certified instructor, Avalanche control level 1.

Tariq is the youngest of our backcountry guides. He has been skiing and living in Gulmarg since the age of 8. He is a chill guide and happy to be in the Heli or the backcountry. He has been trained in International Avalanche Safety Standards by top New Zealand Guides. He has also done his Avalanche 1 Level AIARE by American Standard and has his guide license from the J&K Himalayan Tourism Department Ski Instructors for Beginners/ Intermediate/ Advance If this will be the first time that you’ve strapped on ski boots, clicked the skis and held on to the poles, you’d might want a ski instructor who will first help you find the right ski gears for you and second, get you down the slope on your very first try without falling on your rear. PSA- It doesn’t hurt at all. We hold safety and security as the highest priority. Our ski instructors are trained to International Avalanche Safety Standards by top guides from New Zealand. Our ski instructors are dedicated ski professionals and have been skiing for 3/4th of their lives and are the best at what they do. Our ski instructors have been teaching and providing ski lessons for more than 10 years. So, whether you are just starting or have had some experience skiing before, our ski team and ski instructors will ensure that we adapt to your level of experience. Fayaz has been skiing from a very young age. He skied for the national ski team for 8 years and has been guiding for the last 10 years in Himalayas that includes as a backcountry guide as well as Heli guide. He loves to do lots of ski touring and backcountry skiing.

Mushtaq Rather (Mithun)

Ski Guide

Nicknamed after an old Bollywood star, he has been skiing in Gulmarg since 1995. A fantastic and athletic skier, Mithun is also a local ski Guide and one of our best backcountry/Heli guides. He is always keen to get out with our clients and have a good time in the mountains. Mithun has almost 13 years of Heli guiding experience including Backcountry. He is a very strong and experienced guide.

Ski Guide

Mir has been guiding here in our Pir Panjal Range for the last 14 years. He is one of our most experienced local ski guides. He has won a couple of national free-ride skiing competitions. Mir loves backcountry skiing and of course, Heli guiding. He has been a Heli guide with Kashmir Heliski since its inception, and he has been working for us with Gulmarg Powder Guides. Mir has almost 18 years of Guiding experience in the Himalayas with zero accidental records.

Billa was born in Gulmarg, Kashmir. He started ski guiding from a very young age. He is the founder of Kashmir Heli ski and also the Lead Guide for Gulmarg Powder Guides. Billa has almost more than 17 years of Guiding experience in New Zealand, Himalayas and Canada. He has been working as a Heli-Ski Guide since 2011 with Kashmir Heliski. During summers, he lives in Canada. In 2010, Billa started Heli Guiding in New Zealand with Alpine Heli-Ski based in Queens Town. In 2011, he started Kashmir Heli-Ski in Gulmarg Ski Resort. For Billa, skiing is a passion and profession and he loves to guide people. He has guided thousands in his 17 years of guiding career in the Himalayas. He is the first ever qualified ski guide in India. While operating one of the world’s highest Heli-Ski is never an easy job, however, his experience and passion for skiing made it one of the world’s safest Heli ski with zero accidental /incidental records. Billa also provides heli rescue facility to the entire Gulmarg Ski Resort. He has rescued a number of people in the Himalayas. Billa has guided the world’s best riders and film crews in the Himalayas, Red Bull, Salomon TV, Warren Miller, TGR, Match stick production etc. He is also very friendly and kind-hearted.
